What’s better to shoo away the winter blues and blahs than some music! This session is chock full of songs to cheer you up and get us all dancing and singing and playing: If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out, This Little Light of Mine, Octopus’s Garden, Molly the Donkey, Cape Cod Girls and so many more. Classes will be on Wednesdays at 9:30am and 4pm and on Thursdays at 10am. All classes are at Studio Helix and are taught by Katryna Nields. This class is an 8 week session, costing $150. What is HooteNanny?
HooteNanny is a program of music classes for families, created and taught by Nerissa and Katryna Nields.
Classes include:
- Original HooteNanny: for young children age 0-5 and their grown ups
- Local Chorus: age 5-13
- Focus Chorus: age 11-15
- HooteNanny Guitar: a guitar workshop for parents, grandparents or other grown ups who feel like bringing more music into their family life.
HooteNanny is about music, family and community, and the ways in which learning to sing, play and dance can enhance all three. Music is hand selected by nationally renowned folk-rock musicians, Nerissa and Katryna, better known as The Nields. The music is chosen for its accessibility, but also for its musicality and ability to bear repeated listening and singing. Classes are aimed equally at fostering musical children and at encouraging family connections.
